Bill Gates uses a Mac!!
In response to the popular Apple “I’m a mac. I’m a pc” commercials, Microsoft has put millions of dollars into their own, “I am a pc” commercials.
Oddly enough, these guys, discovered that the commercials pushing pc’s were actually created using macs!
Now, there is a lesson in practicing what you preach!
Thanks to Collide Leadership for turning us on to this story.

What is up with Microsoft? I wish that instead of spending millions on trying to look cooler (like Apple) they would just put a little creativity and energy into making their product better!
It really is amazing that a monster like Microsoft looks like they are playing catch-up with Apple.

Unfortunately for Microsoft, marketing has never been their strong suite. With their deep pockets, you’d think they could do better. Exhibit A and B are those Seinfeld commercials, which were horrible. If those were made on an Apple, they should deny it.
Overall, I guess I’m not surprised that Mac’s were used to make the commercial, as photo and video editing having always been strongholds for Apple, and I would assume that Microsoft outsources the creation of it’s commercials to a company that specializes in the discipline. I would think that the marketing company should have known better than to use a competitor’s equipment to make the commercial. They could have at least erased the evidence. I’m
I wonder if other brand conflicts occur when making commercials…
IMHO, both Microsoft and Apple have contributed significantly to computing and personal electronics. For example, the Ipod is the most popular personal electronic device of the last five years and Microsoft Office is the undeniable leader for office collaboration suites (so much so that no one even competes anymore). In many areas, they only really compete when one company, mainly Microsoft, chooses to, which makes Microsoft look like it is playing catch up. Just look at the Ipod v Zune. To me, it seems that Apple innovates and designs great products but rarely chooses to compete with Microsoft while Microsoft will attempt to clone and compete in any market that looks promising (once again, the Zune is a prime example).
The good news is more competition is good for all consumers of computer and electronic equipment. Hopefully it results in better products that don’t cost the equivalent to a gallon of scorpion venom.

Yes…
But doesn’t even God use evil things to accomplish his good will.
Genesis 50:20… “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

For the record. Between Brian, myself and other Alley computer needs we are equal parts Mac and PC.
Though my vote is that Mac is the better half!

Every time I see those new I’m a PC ads they just make me cringe – All they need is a bunch of price tags on stuff and somesort of reference to Vista as being priceless.
But they do make me think of you and Brian
