More than you know…
Staying in theme with our recent Pulse teaching series there is an incredible video called “Most”. I won’t say much about it, so not to spoil it.
But, I will say this. It is one of the most powerful little videos I’ve ever seen. It’s about 30 minutes long and worth every penny in ordering it. If anyone would like to borrow my copy, shoot a comment or an e-mail my way, I’d be happy to share it.
Check it out here…
My recommendation…
If you’re going to buy it, don’t watch the preview. It will spoil the impact. If your not going to buy it, please watch the trailer, as even that is powerful.
(This post feels way to much like a sales pitch. No kickbacks coming my way, just a good video.)
Quote’s
I’m one who likes a good quote from time to time. Here are some that have resonated with me recently.
“Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.”
~C.S. Lewis
“Often we hear the remark that we have to live in the world without being of the world. But it may be more difficult to be in the Church without being of the Church. Being of the Church means being so preoccupied by and involved in the many ecclesial affairs and clerical ‘ins and outs’ that we are no longer focused on Jesus. The Church then blinds us from what we came to see and deafens us to what we came to hear. Still, it is in the Church that Christ dwells, invites us to his table, and speaks to us words of eternal love. Being in the Church without being of it is a great spiritual challenge. ~Author Unkown
“There are many of us that are willing to do great things for the Lord, but few of us are willing to do little things.” ~Dwight L. Moody
“It is a poor sermon that gives no offense; that neither makes the hearer displeased with himself nor with the preacher” ~George whitefield
“The preaching that this world needs most is the sermons in shoes that are walking with Jesus Christ.” ~ D.L. Moody
The ones I actually read
Some of you know my tendency to say that something is a good book, even to recommend it, even though I’ve never read it myself. Now, to my credit, all of the above books were read vicariously through my wife.
But, I am proud to say, that the following reviews are based (mostly) on my own perusal and use. One is for those who like the story behind the story. The other is a beneficial read for anyone and speaks directly to our priorities.

Jesus the Messiah, by Alfred Edersheim
This book originally published in 1898 is a must have for anyone who likes to dig deeper into the cultural roots of the Bible. Beware, this book would fit more into the world of encyclopedia than thriller, but the depth and insight it offers are awesome! There’s a 1993 reprinted edition or you can peruse the entire original work online here!

Choosing to Cheat, by Andy Stanley
Thisis one of many great resources Andy Stanley and his ministry put out. This little book is packed with stretching truth and challenges all of us to reexamine our priorities. One great point it makes is that too often we give up the role God has given only us to do (husband, wife, father, mother) to pursue the job that 1,000 other people could step into if we weren’t there.
My only criticism is that it doesn’t focus as much on loving God with all your heart, mind, body and soul as it does on being the best, parent, spouse and friend you could be. That said, a great read for anybody.
